Sacks is a local institution and everyone loves this spot. They have amazing breakfast burritos, wraps, killer sammies, smoothies, coffee and pretty much everything you could ever need for breakfast, lunch, or a healthy refresher to take to the beach or on a walk. And the people here are super nice, the cook always smiles and is really friendly.. the store just has a great vibe. They have patio seating with an ocean view where locals love to chill and snack. Even their side dishes are home made and delicious.. the quinoa salad is a nice healthy option and oh so good. They also have plenty of salads and vegetarian choices on the menu. The best part here is the prices.. they seem to have missed all the inflation and constant increases because their prices remain super reasonable. Whatever you order here it is always made fresh to order and comes out piping hot, cheese perfectly melted, looking and tasting fantastic. The location is right on the corner of Ave I and Catalina NW corner. Ideal spot to grab some lunch to take to the beach.
Overview
When I first stumbled upon Sacks Otb at 1611 S Catalina Ave #120, Redondo Beach, CA 90277, United States, I wasnโt expecting much from a casual diner tucked in a busy strip mall. But stepping inside immediately changed that perception. The warm, inviting atmosphere feels like a mix of classic American diner charm with a modern twist. The staff greets you with genuine smiles, and the aroma of freshly cooked food instantly draws you in.
Walking through the menu, itโs clear that Sacks Otb takes pride in offering more than your typical diner fare. From stacked breakfast plates to hearty sandwiches and creative twists on classic comfort foods, thereโs something for everyone. One standout experience for me was trying their signature burger, which featured perfectly seared beef topped with locally sourced ingredients. The flavors were balanced, and the portion was generous without being overwhelming. Iโve visited other diners along the California coast, but Sacks Otbโs attention to ingredient quality and preparation really sets it apart.
The diner also caters to different dining preferences, offering both vegetarian and gluten-free options without compromising flavor. I remember one morning visiting with friends, and we tried a few items off the breakfast menu. The avocado toast paired with poached eggs was fresh and vibrant, while the homemade hash browns were golden, crisp, and perfectly seasoned. Itโs little touches like these that make the experience memorable. The preparation process is transparent; chefs are often happy to share insights into sourcing local produce or using house-made sauces.
Another reason Sacks Otb stands out is the consistency of its service and food quality. According to a recent local food magazine, diners in Redondo Beach rate it highly not just for taste, but also for ambiance and customer care. The team has mastered the balance between efficiency and friendliness, ensuring that every visit feels personal. Itโs no surprise that reviews across multiple platforms highlight repeat customers who praise the reliability and inviting environment.
From an analytical perspective, Redondo Beach has a competitive restaurant scene, but Sacks Otbโs combination of location, menu diversity, and attention to detail gives it a notable edge. Studies in hospitality management emphasize that diners increasingly value not just taste but overall experience, including service, atmosphere, and perceived value. Sacks Otb aligns perfectly with these findings. For instance, seating arrangements are designed to accommodate both casual solo diners and groups, creating a flexible, welcoming environment.
Even during peak hours, the flow remains smooth, which is a testament to effective operational practices. Watching the staff coordinate orders and maintain quality reveals a depth of expertise. On multiple occasions, I observed how team members handle high-demand periods without compromising on presentation or customer interaction. That level of professionalism reflects their training and dedication, and itโs a major reason why locals consider Sacks Otb a go-to spot for brunch, lunch, or dinner.
What also makes this diner special is its connection to the Redondo Beach community. Local events often feature Sacks Otb as a supporting vendor, and the diner sources several ingredients from nearby farms. This approach enhances both freshness and sustainability, giving diners confidence in what theyโre eating. While no restaurant is without room for improvement, the transparency and engagement Sacks Otb shows toward its patrons foster trust and loyalty.
Whether youโre stopping by for a quick bite or planning a relaxed meal with friends, the diner manages to deliver on multiple fronts. Every visit feels authentic, with attention paid to both food quality and overall experience. The menu changes seasonally, reflecting both creativity and responsiveness to customer preferences, which keeps regulars coming back to try new offerings.

Amazingly fresh pastries, good food, great service. And a lunch special under 10 bucks!!! Perfect patio for dining. A must stop on your walk down to Avenue I beach!
OMG. This is THE coziestโฆ.and tastiestโฆ.and friendliest place in the whole South Bay. If you want a chill bite to eat near the water this is your spot. Also stop blowing big bucks on fancy, chain store coffee. Their Americanos are robust yet understatedโฆjust delightful.
My husband and I are visiting for a few days from Atlanta and had breakfast here. He got the Go Pro and I got the Breakfast in France. The food and coffee was great and we got to enjoy our food looking out at the ocean! Great spot!
YUMMM! I have been on the hunt for delicious breakfast spots in the South Bay and Iโm glad to say Iโll be returning! There was surprisingly no wait time during my visit (weekend brunch time) - I walked right up to the counter and was greeted by friendly staff who helped place my order right away. We grabbed a seat in the shade and waited approx. 5-7 mins before being served. Then we got to indulge in these savory breakfast wraps (see photo). There are 1 or 2 tables outside where you can catch a glimpse of the ocean if you care about that. I have to say Iโm impressed and can see why itโs a local favorite! Side note: If you care about spice level, the Verde sauce that came on the side seemed relatively mild.
